I Take You

I personally enjoyed this lighthearted and fun novel by Eliza Kennedy. I Take You depicts a young woman with a blossoming career in law who struggles to commit to the man she is about to marry. Over the course of one week, protagonist Lily learns what love truly means. Kennedy fills Lily's life with many conflicting interests often resulting in humorous consequences. I found myself in the character with her aspects of career aspirations and the desire to be successful in everything she does. However, I sometimes felt secondhand-embarrassment from her awkward and ungraceful social interactions. The fast-pace and humor of the novel made it easy to digest and fun to read.
